Careers talk at Duraven High School

I’ve always been a massive believer in giving back to the community and on this occasion I was delighted to give a further careers talk at south London’s Dunraven High School.

It was great to speak to 200+ GCSE students at Dunraven School last week. I hopefully inspired the next generation to pursue their dreams with a clear message of: Follow your heart.

Discussing my work experience, higher education and the world of work I tried to give them a positive insight into adult life and all the things that can be achieve when you work towards something you enjoy.

I expected the students to be a little restless but they were super switched on and enjoyed the 3 case studies I shared;

  • Carlos Carrillo - Environment TD at Framestore

  • Sian Bevan - Senior User Experience Researcher at Aviva

  • Will Harvey - Digital Innovation Manager at Diageo

Hopefully in 5-10 years time some of these kids will be working on UX projects ;-)
