Starting a career in Design lecture - University of Portsmouth

The first part of a two part series of lectures for University of Portsmouth back in 2016.

I studied at University of Portsmouth back in 2009 and have always had an incredible connection the university and the town. I was lucky to meet some fantastic people and lecturers during my time there. I was delighted to be asked by my former Head of Faculty, Steve Hand, to return to take a lecture to the current 2nd and 3rd year students of the Creative Faculty on how to start a career in the design industry.

Speaking to a room of about 50 students, I talked through my experience up that point and also about how I was able to get exposure and find opportunities. I gave the students some first hand tips for CVs, portfolios and interviewing techniques.

The second part of the lectures was more about developing while your working in the creative industry.
